SMART technologies
Teacher tube is an indispensable tool for any current or future teacher. It has opened up my world, i am able to search and view many interesting vidoes on crucial educational matters. I am also givent the opportunity to upload my own videos. Furthermore, i was searching teacher tube and came across this short film on SMART teaching technolgies.
This film shows a 6th Grade teacher introducing the topic of light and sound, the film emphasises the need for smartboards in all primary classrooms. The students look bored and unengaged at the beginning of the film, noting the very boring approach to the lesson, teacher dictation. As the film progresses you can see the students engaging with the whiteboard, through the use of the whiteboard the teacher maintains students interest.
This is due to the physical interaction the board provides which caters for a variety of learners and learning styles. The film shows students using mindmapping software and teacher tube within the classroom. It all adds another dimension to learning. With the assistance of Interactive whiteboards in every classroom education is truely moving forwards!
Although this is only a short film of 34 seconds is conveys the difference it makes for both the student and the teacher. I am a strong supporter for the push towrds installing interactive whiteboards in ALL primary classrooms.
Watch the film and you will see why i am so passionate about this; motivating and maintaining student interest and using variety in the classroom are key aspects of teaching and learning, such whoteboards greatly assist with that. Thusly, creating a classroom with a positive learning attitude.
